Brian Pillman Jr. has potential to do great things in WWE NXT

Read Time:1 Minute, 22 Second

According to PWInsider, former AEW star Brian Pillman Jr. is set to be at this week’s taping of NXT. Most wrestling fans will recognize his name as he is the son of the late Brian Pillman. However, outside of his lineage, who is Brian Pillman Jr.?

Pillman most notably had a stint in All Elite Wrestling that lasted from May 2019 until his contract expired on July 11th of this year. He was signed to a full-time deal on and began teaming with Griff Garrison as The Varsity Blondes, a tribute to The Hollywood Blondes. Although most wrestling fans will remember Pillman for that multi-year run in AEW, he really cut his teeth in Major League Wrestling.

Brian signed a contract with MLW in late 2018 and would eventually form the new Hart Foundation with Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Teddy Hart. During his time in MLW, Pillman had matches with notable opponents such as Austin Aries, Lio Rush, and even a tag match against AEW Champion MJF & Richard Holliday.

Despite being a fan of Brian, he has always flown under the radar. MLW isnā€™t aired on any major networks and his time in AEW was majorly spent on Dark, not on Dynamite. It should go without saying, but a place like NXT is built for a wrestler like Brian Pillman Jr. NXT has been sneaky good for a long time and there are a plethora of potential spots and opponents for him to finally shine on a consistent basis.
