The Scrap’s 2021 Male Regional Fighter of the Year: Josh Silveira
Josh Silveira had one hell of a year! And his 2022 is already off to a bang, as he recently signed to the PFL. This year, multiple regional belt holders filled our nomination ballot. But Josh stood out in many ways…
To kick off the year, the young prospect headlined his first LFA card in dominant fashion. It only took Josh 41 seconds to secure the victory that earned him his first regional title shot. Then in September, he went to capture the LFA light heavyweight title in under 49 seconds.
Main eventing for a third time, Silveira would then try his skills in the middleweight division, capping out the year as LFA’s second-ever double champion. Not only did Silveira headline every card he fought on in 2021 and capture two titles; but he did it dominantly, against tough competition.
Many may know Josh Silveira as the son of American Top Team coach Conan Silveira, but he really is carving a name for himself in the sport he grew up in. We have no doubts that he will do big things in 2022, maybe even become a millionaire.
Next year should be a big year for our Regional Fighter of the Year and he is without a doubt one to keep a close eye on. For all the reasons listed above and more, Josh Silveira is The Scrap’s 2021 Male Regional Fighter of the Year.
Honorable Mentions: Figlak Brothers, Dominique Wooding and André Fialho.
