Deonna Purrazzo: The Ace of IMPACT Wrestling

Last Saturday at Bound For Glory, Deonna Purrazzo’s 343 days reign as IMPACT Knockouts Champion came to an end. Purrazzo has been the ace of the promotion and her work has been must-see TV every week. While her second title reign as IMPACT Knockouts Champion is over thanks to Mickie James, it can’t be ignored how good it was.
Since leaving WWE, Purrazzo has become a star in all ways possible, and this has helped her in a way become the ace of IMPACT Wrestling. Her work in IMPACT has been so good that she was ranked #3 in the PWI Top 150 female wrestlers in 2021. Purrazzo is also a strong contender for the female wrestler of the year.
IMPACT doesn’t get a lot of attention and viewers, but those who watch their product will tell you Deonna Purrazzo’s work is one the main reasons people still watch IMPACT’s product. Her technical wrestling in-ring work is elegant, especially her lethal Fujiwara Armbar.
There’s a case to be made that Deonna Purrazzo is the best technical female wrestler in the world. Her recent work in IMPACT these last two years backs up her case as not only as one of the best technical female wrestlers in the world, but one of the best in-ring workers in the business.
What’s next for her? A long term feud with Mickie James could be the way to go and with James putting her over big time down the line would seem to be the logical thing. There’s also the possibility of her doing stuff with AEW and Britt Baker, considering the AEW Women’s Champion pitched some ideas to Tony Khan according to reports. Purrazzo did the same with IMPACT higher-ups.
Purrazzo can also work indie and\or NWA dates. The next few months will be very interesting for the Virtuosa. So definitely keep an eye out…
