The Scrap’s 2021 YouTube Show of the Year: The WMMA Today Podcast
It’s not often that we debut new awards at The Scrap, but ever since our YouTube account was created last year, we’ve grown passionate about growing our channel and viewership. At the forefront of our push to YouTube was our Managing Editor & Video Content Producer, Drake Riggs.
Debuting at the end of 2020 and remaining consistent throughout 2021, there was no doubt that The WMMA Today Podcast would be named our inaugural YouTube Show of the Year! Not only was it the first show, it was the only show to remain consistent. Hosted by Drake & Steve King, The WMMA Today Podcast went over everything happening with the female fighters from the week before, and the week ahead…
The show was revamped and re-debuted on The Scrap’s platforms last year. With 81 Episodes now in the books, not only did it build our YouTube channel, it developed an awesome community of loyal returners that would tune in every week.
Years from now, when we look back at where we started, this is going to be an important moment to remember. Without Drake, YouTube likely wouldn’t have started when it did. And our channel wouldn’t have had the solid base he created for us to build upon.
Congratulations Drake & Steve!
