The Scrap’s 2020 MVP of the Year: Drake Riggs
Through the pandemic, The Scrap was able to keep its staff active thanks to the help of every active writer on our team. The staff was able to get together and write some creative articles as a unit to keep content consistent, even throughout a slow Q2.
But no other staff member was more crucial to us staying afloat last year, and that was our 2020 MVP of the Year, Drake Riggs.
Honorable Mentions: Caroline Romero, Katie Vega and Juan Reneo.
Aside from editing the majority of articles from The Scrap staff, Drake not only writes articles of his own, but also hosts a live WMMA Today show on The Scrap’s YouTube Channel. He juggles a large workload across all platforms and still makes time for ours, which never goes unnoticed.
LIVE tomorrow at 6:30 PM PST, #WMMAToday says goodbye to 2020! 🥳
Since no fights are coming up this weekend, @SteveK_MMA and I will be dedicating the preview segment to one fight in each division we want to see the most in 2021! What are yours?

Even before the pandemic, Drake was able to attend Bellator 238 as the first member of The Scrap to ever do so. He got our name out there during Bellator Media Week and was able to kickstart our YouTube channel with tons of live interviews.
There are many more reasons to list, and I’m sure the staff would agree, but no one deserves it more than our for our MVP of the Year, Drake Riggs!
