The Scrap’s 2019 Pro Wrestling Newcomer of the Year: Jon Moxely

Read Time:59 Second

2019 was a breakout year for many wrestlers, so The Scrap took a look at some of the top promotion’s newcomers who made their debuts this past year.

Jon Moxley’s wrestling life outside of WWE in 2019 has been out of this world, from his iconic Double or Nothing debut by attacking Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. But Moxley’s amazing 2019 is not only AEW bound, his year saw him working on the independent scene and on NJPW.

Moxley’s run with NJPW so far has been outstanding. His G1 Climax performance was incredible with a lot of incredible matches against White, Naito, and Ishii. During his NJPW run he won the IWGP US Championship.

Moxley was also part of the most controversial match of 2019 against Kenny Omega in a light out match at Full Gear. For many people this match was a contender for best match of year.

Jon Moxley’s 2019 was incredible and 2020 looks to follow that path or even being better in many aspects.

Congratulations to Jon Moxley on being named our Pro Wrestling Newcomer of the Year for his debuts in AEW & NJPW!
