The Scrap’s 2019 Match of the Year: Dustin Rhodes vs. Cody Rhodes
People like to claim that in modern wrestling there’s no storytelling, but this match proves these people wrong.
This match is about two brothers, two different generations clashing with one another to settle this debate of which generation is better.
Cody and Dustin told a personal story during the build up of this match and their perspective they had of one another. This bout was more than just a match, it was about proving to the other who was the better man.
Cody Rhodes vs Dustin Rhodes was the match of the year:

One of the most interesting aspects of this match was how both wrestlers would go back and forth as working heel or babyface. This match is just something special all people need to watch. It could make even the toughest man in the world cry. The storytelling was just the best of all year, and sometimes telling a story in the ring is more important than the number of crazy moves you can perform in a match.
The promo after this match from Cody (where he needed his older brother to face The Young Buck at the next AEW PPV) was emotional and ended this feud in the right way with both brothers embracing each other.
Congratulations to Dustin & Cody for our 2019 Match of the Year!
