The Scrap’s 2019 Fighter to Watch: Edmen Shahbazyan
Edmen Shahbazyan fights out of Glendale, California and is now the #11th ranked top middleweight fighter in the UFC.
After making a name for himself on Dana White’s Contender Series, Edmen had a breakout 2019 in the UFC.
Training out of Glendale Fighting Club, Shahbazyan added three first-round finishes to his resume in 2019. He’s being billed as the next big thing to come out of Edmond Tarverdyan’s gym since Ronda Rousey and has lived up to his expectations.
At UFC 235 in March, “The Golden Boy” took out Charles Byrd at 38 seconds of round via elbows and punches. He continued his winning ways in July at UFC 239 submitting Jack Marchman with a rear naked choke.
Finishing off his wins in November, the 22-year-old pounded a tough opponent in Brad Tavares at UFC 244 with an impressive head kick.
Due to his impressive wins this year and his determination to become the youngest champion in UFC history, “The Golden Boy” earns the Scrap’s Fighter to Watch Award for 2019!
