2 Rumored 2025 Royal Rumble Entrants Confirmed?

Read Time:2 Minute, 9 Second

Recent developments have lent significant credibility to rumors about two potential surprise entrants in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble. Let’s start with the big one, as news broke of WWE and TNA’s new multi-year partnership. According to WWE, “The agreement will enable talent to garner additional exposure across key WWE and TNA programming, including weekly flagship shows such as NXT—which airs live on The CW—and TNA iMPACT!, select WWE Premium Live Events, and TNA pay-per-views, in turn bolstering their in-ring development with exposure to world-class talent and coaching.”

This partnership certainly increases the likelihood that we see Joey Hendry enter the Royal Rumble as speculated. The red-hot superstar has made numerous NXT appearances in 2024. Fans have also been begging for Hendry to appear on WWE television once again. Hendry seems enthusiastic about the new collaboration given his reply to a post on X. A reply that saw him garner more likes than the original TNA post that broke the news… Aura! Given the new partnership, Joe Hendry appearing in the Rumble has gone from a rumor to almost a certainty.

The second bit of news has flown somewhat under the radar. Matt Cardona made some recent comments on The Ariel Helwani Show when asked about the upcoming PLE on February 1st. Cardona said that he’ll be in town for the annual Wrestlecon convention in Indianapolis. Could this open the door to a surprise entry in the Royal Rumble match? The former United States & Intercontinental Champion has made it clear that he’s more than open to a WWE return. So much so, that according to Cardona, he’s had his Royal Rumble gear ready “just in case” for the last several years.

When you consider how far the former WWE superstar has come… Why not give him another crack at the big show? The blueprint to success is already there when you consider how Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre were able to reinvent themselves before returning to WWE. Also, having an extremely popular wife in Chelsea Green, as an olive branch, does not hurt.

Do you think we will see Joe Hendry or Matt Cardona at the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble? Heck, maybe we will be lucky enough to see them both. Either way, be sure to tune in on February 1st to find out.
